Flexible and Collaborative Approach: A New Contractual Challenge in the Face of Uncertainty and Change

On June 13, an international conference will be held on contractual adaptability as a lever to respond to uncertainty and change, organized by the Centre for Private Law at ULB – Université Libre de Bruxelles. On this occasion, Denis Philippe will take part in discussions on “Flexibility organized through contractual clauses” and “Agile-type contracts.”

Preamble

Commercial exchanges have become increasingly difficult to predict. In order to navigate this fog of uncertainty, businesses must be agile and adaptable. One of the key expressions of this need is the contract itself. Contracts must be based on flexibility and adaptability to reduce their vulnerability to external circumstances.

This conference, with the participation of professors, legal practitioners, and economists, aims to explore the various contractual techniques that help preserve the economic value of contracts in the face of uncertainty and change by fostering dialogue and cooperation between parties.
