Philippe & Partners won the award for “environment, energy and regulatory firm of the year” at the Belgian Legal Awards 2012, held in Brussels on March 15, 2012. The jury gave the following reasons for awarding this prize:
High demonstrated expertise in the field and in depth knowledge of comparative law principles Strong collaboration with the academic community, combined with a down to earth solution driven approach Lawyers equally devoted to consultancy, transactional work and litigation, with a strong interest in alternative dispute resolutions, mediation and arbitration Innovation and new services: development of outsourcing to legal departments, assistance with innovative products (wind energy PPP’s, green certificates, micro-credits, etc. Excellent co-operation with in house counsels
The Belgian Legal Awards honour “excellence, continuity and innovation in the legal sphere” in eighteen different categories. Our energy department has certainly striven for innovation and excellence by working on topics that will shape the energy markets of tomorrow. The department gained importance within the firm and recognition outside the firm and is on the verge of expanding.
It is the fourth year in row that our law firm has been awarded. Last year we won the award for “Best law firm of the year” (as in 2009) and “Litigation & Arbitration law firm of the year”. In 2010 and 2008 we received the award for “Banking & Finance”.
We are proud and honoured with this new recognition by the legal community in Belgium and by our clients, which illustrates the fact that our efforts in the field of energy are highly appreciated, and would like to share this recognition with all our clients, colleagues, suppliers and friends.
